Well it's day one and I'm already facing a bit of a dilemma... I seem to have used most of my red clothes in last year's event. Which means I am either going to have to get awfully creative these next 6 days, or I'm going to have to dig around in my closet and hope something pops. I do have marvelous dress lying about for the last day so stay tuned for that ;)
I bought these pants at *gasp* Hot Topic a few months ago. Now I don't particularly like the store, but they're the only place around where I can find black jeans that aren't half a foot too short on me. Desperate times and so on. Last time I popped in to stock up on basic jeans I saw these lying right next to my normal ones and couldn't resist snatching them up. I'm a sucker for a sale.
Obviously, I'm starting the event off casually here. Considering it's Sunday and the most pressing thing I have to do today is trade in some old games at Gamestop for a copy of Dark Souls/Assassin's Creed/Dragon's Dogma/Pokemon XD/whatever else crosses my mind (I can't decide on just one game, can you tell?) or possibly study for my finals, there's no need to get all dolled up.
In the title I called these my 'shiny red pants' because in person you can't really tell at times whether they're red or black and they have a sort of shine to them. No really! I couldn't capture the effect on camera, but if you look closely you can at least tell that there are both black and red threads sewn into the pants. It adds a fantastic element to them, especially when I walk.
In honor of the event, I'm going to attempt to watch some sort of show or movie involving said colors every day, and put an image up here as proof. A little challenge within a challenge. (Who am I kidding? This is just an excuse to be lazy) That being said, today's pick was The Masque of the Red Death starring Vincent Price, an old classic, and a favorite of mine.
