Upcoming Movies

Dark Shadows

Now I know every gothy blogger and their cat has done some sort of thing about this movie, but I figured I'd throw my two cents in. No seriously, two cents. Because unfortunately that's about all I have in my wallet at the mo'.

Anyway... Dark Shadows. My first thought of course is "Its Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. What could go wrong?" because honestly those two make a phenomenal team. I don't think there's a movie by those two I haven't seen. But with this one...I just don't know. It has the potential to be an amazing success or a complete disaster.

Now, I haven't seen the original dark shadows and I know that some people are complaining about the lack of faith to the old series. I myself am just going to judge it based on what I've seen. It looks...quirky. Like most Burton films. But is that a good thing? I honestly don't know. Its trying to pass itself off as a comedy, with the wacky humor Johnny Depp is so good at. I just hope it won't make Barnabas look like a complete joke(in a bad way). If they can pull this off...fantastic! If not...well...I'll be seeing it in theaters most likely and I'll let you know how it goes.

Oh dear, I've chipped a nail.

The Raven
Words cannot even begin to describe how excited I am for this movie! Ever since I read this poem as a wee little 6th grader I was hooked on Poe. His work is just...genius. And the fact that they're bringing his poems to life through this film fills me with happiness. Poe died under such mysterious circumstances that I just can't wait to see what they come up with for this movie. I probably shouldn't be getting so exited about this, in case I'm let down, but I can't help but feel like this could be my favorite movie of the year.

Poe's creations were certainly macabre but somehow I don't think he saw this coming out of his work

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Ok so the first time I saw the title I laughed. Admit  it, you did too. The trailer didn't look bad, but Lincoln? Our fabulous president a vampire hunter? I was skeptical. However, my English teacher generally has good taste in books and I've received good recommendations from her before. So when she claimed that the book this movie was based on was a worthwhile read I decided to be more open-minded. I haven't yet picked up the book but I might go see this for fun. Who knows? I might be pleasantly surprised. The funny thing is that they're already considering the possibility of a sequel. So its obviously expected to be a success.

Mr. President looking particularly angsty in that patch of moonlight. Maybe he was a closet goth?
An ax. Where have I seen this before?

On a side note, I think I might go see the Hunger Games tomorrow :D If anyone's already seen it...how was it?

And So It Begins.

Well, I have no idea what I'm doing here but first impressions are everything right? So maybe I should start by introducing myself?  I'm Megan, a recently discovered babybat and enthusiast of anything falling under the cute and creepy category.

I wanted to start this blog after being inspired by similar ones, so I can keep track of my progress as I try to figure my way through these first couple of years, and hopefully beyond. Plus, I was getting tired of being the anonymous stalker of several fantabulous people. This way they'll KNOW I'm creeping on their blogs and maybe I'll gather up the courage to actually comment...

But, something important. I'm technologically (thank you spellcheck) challenged despite being a teenager so this thing is confusing the crap out of me... This whole blogging thing is definitely going to be a learning experience. Also, the name of this blog will probably be changing. A lot. I was really eager to start, so this name is definitely temporary. Hopefully I'll find the right one soon!

Anyhoo, my next post should be up soon-ish (which in my world could mean anything from 5 minutes to 3 days) and I'm ready to give this a shot!

Ta ta for now!
